What We Believe

At Redeemer Church of the Shoals, we joyfully confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the Bible as God’s inspired, inerrant Word. Our faith is rooted in the historic truths of the Christian church and expressed through the Reformed tradition.

We believe…

• The Triune God — There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer.
• The Bible — God has spoken in the Scriptures, the Old and New Testaments, which are without error in the original writings and the only infallible rule for faith and life.
• Salvation by Grace Alone — We are saved from sin and death by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — not by any works we could do.
• Jesus Christ — The eternal Son of God became fully human, lived a sinless life, died in our place for our sins, and rose bodily from the grave. He will return to judge the living and the dead and to make all things new.
• The Church — God calls believers into a family, the Church, to worship, grow in faith, care for one another, and proclaim the gospel to the world.
• The Westminster Standards — As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), we hold to the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms as faithful summaries of biblical teaching.

Our aim is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever, loving Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and loving our neighbors as ourselves.
